Tuition
Sanderson Wrestling Academy offers either an annual or a seasonal program. Sanderson is not a month-to-month program. When registering for our program, it is a commitment to the season you are participating in. For example:
All Seasons (Annual) September-May or November-May
Pre-Season September-October
Spring Season March-May
Summer Season June-July
Monthly Tuition will be processed on the 5th of every month. Any accounts that we are unable to process and still have a balance by the 15th will have a $15 late fee automatically added.
Can I cancel?
It's expected that ALL wrestlers finish the season they register for. When you register, you are making a commitment to that season or year.
Exceptions are documented injuries (doctor's note) and a family moving.
If you choose to drop out before your season ends, a full month's tuition is required as a cancellation fee.
If you stop attending after the last payment of the season/year has been processed; there are no extra cancellation fees.
*Wrestlers in our program can always count on a spot for the next season. However, if a wrestler leaves before the season concludes, there is no guarantee of a spot in the future.
Coaches Fees
We charge a coaches fee for out-of-state events to ensure we can provide proper coaching support for our wrestlers. These fees directly cover the travel expenses of our coaching staff, including transportation, accommodations, and meals.
We strive to keep these fees as minimal as possible while still covering the necessary costs of bringing our staff to events. Without these fees, we would be unable to maintain the level of coaching and support that our wrestlers deserve when competing away from home.
Examples of events with coaches fee: PNL events, Super 32, Freak Show, Ironman, Doc B, NHSCA, Women's Nationals, US Open/National Showcase, Fargo and any other events we add to the schedule.
These fees typically range from $50 to $100 per wrestler per event.
Travel Fees
Travel fees are when a wrestler travels with the team - not parents. Travel fees apply to out-of-state events. Travel fees typically include, but are not limited to the following:
Airfare/van seat
Rental cars and fuel
Lodging
*Event registration fees are not included in travel fees. Families are expected to register their athletes for out-of-state events themselves. It is important to pay attention to deadlines and caps, as not all tournaments show a roster of wrestlers prior to closing registration.

To ensure the safety of all athletes and compliance with USA Wrestling requirements, all wrestlers must scan their USA Wrestling Membership ID at the start of every practice. This check-in system confirms active membership status and ensures that all participants are properly insured.
Policy Details:
Mandatory Check-In:
-Every wrestler is required to scan their USA Wrestling Membership ID upon arrival at each practice.
-Check-in must be completed before participating in any warm-ups, drills, or activities.Random Compliance Checks:
-The club will conduct random attendance and membership checks to ensure all athletes are properly scanned in.
-These checks may happen at any time during the season.Consequences for Non-Compliance:
-Any wrestler found attending practice without having scanned their USA Wrestling ID will not be permitted to practice that day.
-Repeated violations may result in further disciplinary action, up to suspension from club activities.
Why This Matters:
This policy is in place to protect all participants, ensure proper insurance coverage, and maintain USA Wrestling standards. By checking in every practice, we can keep accurate attendance records and ensure a safe training environment for everyone. -
At SWA, the safety and well-being of our athletes is our top priority. We are committed to creating a positive, disciplined, and secure environment where every wrestler can grow and succeed. To support this, we follow the guidelines and best practices set by USA Wrestling.
Membership & Certification Requirements:
1. USA Wrestling Membership (Athletes): All wrestlers participating in any practices, events, or competitions must have a current and valid USA Wrestling athlete membership. This ensures that each athlete is covered under USA Wrestling’s insurance policies and participates within a nationally recognized structure of safety and support.
2. USA Wrestling Leadership Certification (Coaches & Volunteers): Anyone who coaches, assists, or helps facilitate practice in any capacity must have an active USA Wrestling Leader Membership. This includes successful completion of the required background check and SafeSport training. No exceptions.
This policy applies to:
Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Volunteer Parents, Guest Clinicians, and Practice Helpers (including high school athletes assisting with youth groups)
3. Supervision: Practices will always be supervised by at least one certified coach. We maintain a minimum adult-to-athlete ratio to ensure safety and adequate supervision at all times.
4. Injury Prevention & Response: We implement age-appropriate training, regular water breaks, and proper warm-up and cool-down routines. All coaches are trained to respond appropriately to injuries and will immediately contact parents in the event of a serious issue.
5. Skin Disease Policy: Wrestling involves close physical contact, so maintaining skin health is essential for all athletes.
To reduce the risk of skin infections such as ringworm, impetigo, staph, and MRSA:
Prevention:
Wrestlers must shower immediately after practice or competition using antibacterial soap.
Wrestling gear (headgear, singlets, shoes, knee pads, etc.) must be washed/sanitized regularly.
Wrestlers with open cuts or abrasions must cover them with a secure, dry dressing before stepping on the mat.
Examinations:
Wrestlers may be subject to skin checks at the beginning of practice or events.
Any athlete with a visible rash, sore, or suspicious skin condition will not be allowed to practice or compete until evaluated by a medical professional and cleared in writing.
Return to Participation:
Wrestlers diagnosed with a skin infection must submit a doctor’s note verifying treatment and clearance before resuming activity.
We follow NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) skin lesion guidelines and USA Wrestling return-to-play standards.
6. Safe Environment Commitment: We are committed to a harassment-free, inclusive, and respectful environment. Any reports of unsafe behavior—physical, verbal, or emotional—will be taken seriously and addressed promptly.
